K9 Maverick Sniffs out Yet Another Drug Dealer!
Jamestown, CA...Early Sunday morning, Deputy Knapp contacted several people near a gray Dodge Durango at Sierra Energy Gas Station in Jamestown. The vehicle’s registration was expired and a strong odor of marijuana was emanating from it.
Deputy Knapp deployed K9 Maverick to conduct an exterior sniff of the SUV. K9 Maverick is not trained to detect the odor of marijuana, but he did alert to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. A search of the Dodge netted 57.31 grams of methamphetamine and 127.97 grams of marijuana.
After the scene was turned over to a Tuolumne Narcotics Team Detective for further investigation, 35-year-old Lynette Adams of Copperopolis was arrested and booked into the Tuolumne County Jail for possession and transportation of methamphetamine for sale.
