California Gubernatorial Candidate Delaine Eastin to Visit Calaveras County on November 13th

San Andreas, CA...California Gubernatorial Candidate Delaine Eastin will be the featured speaker at the Calaveras Democrats monthly meeting on November 13. Meeting time is 6:30 pm at the Calaveras County Public Library in San Andreas, with Eastin scheduled to speak at 6:45. It is recommended to arrive early, as seating is limited. “Calavera County may be small, but we are able to draw some big speakers. We are proud to offer Calaveras voters a chance to hear from Ms. Easton directly,” said Laura Lowell, chair of the Calaveras County Democratic Central Committee.

Eastin was elected as California’s first (and still only) woman Superintendent of Public Instruction. Prior to that Ms. Eastin was a school teacher, and served in the California State Assembly for the 18th district. Since 2008 Eastin has been a speaker and board member on issues of education policy, nutrition, and electing women to public office.

In addition, Eastin continues her work on the Chancellor's Women in STEM board at UC Davis, the Edible Schoolyard Advisory Board, Educate Our State (Chair), the Center for Nutrition Education Advisory Board at UC Davis (Chair), and the Yolo County Board for Court Appointed Student Advocates (CASA)

Delaine Eastin’s appearance will give local voters their first chance to meet one of their candidates for Governor. All voters are welcome to her speak, regardless of political affiliation.

The goal of Calaveras Democrats is to provide a forum for voter discussion of issues and candidates, and to educate the public on the values that bind all Calaveras County residents together.

Easton was and is for Jerry's gas tax hike, plus car registration rip off! Just think, the freeway between Davis and Sacramento is going to get bike lanes and one lane for buses for a tune of 80 million dollars! We need this lackey like we need pot shops on every corner inCalaveras County! How many years did she teach? Most adm. People get out of the classroom as fast as possible to get into positions where they can go to meetings, and drink Starbucks all day! The retirement is significantly higher also! Oh, it's for the kids! Bull bleep!

Maybe but if you factor the percentage of Dems who work in government jobs or jobs funded with public sector funds they they are by far a larger drain on public resources than any Repub.

You can say you pay taxes on your income from the public sector. Fine that is true but it only lessons the negative impact on the whole economy.

Anyone working in the private sector by default contributes far more to the economy because their contributions are a net positive.

Public sector workers shouldn't be allowed to have unions to extort more private sector contributed tax dollars

Going BLUE
Posted on: 2017-11-04 17:24:19   By: Anonymous

If the polls are correct, a special election in the state of Washington will result in the election of a new state senator who is a Democrat (taking a Republican seat). That will flip Washington to a totally BLUE state: governor, legislature, senators, and the majority of congressional representatives, joining Oregon and California. Nevada has a democrat led state senate and assembly, one of two US Senators, and a majority of the congressional representation.

As for California, 44% of registered voters are Democrat, 28% are Republican and a survey by the non-partisan Policy Institute showed that over 40% of independents preferred Democrats and 28% preferred Republicans.

Sorry Charlie. but only the best get to lead our great state and it looks like other Pacific states think the same way. If that doesn't work for you, try a Republican state with its new tax plan that is driving it into bankruptcy.

If you ever take a look at the blue versus the red states it can almost be likened to being in the foundry watching molten metal, slag rises to the top and around the edges. Keep voting (d) at watch this great country go down the tubes.

CA & WA are carried by the tech sector. If tech crashes your math will no longer work and watch them go red again.
