San Andreas Home was Vacant During Oct. 26 Fire

San Andreas, CA...No one was home when firefighters were called in the early morning Oct. 26 to extinguish a fire in a two-story residence at 211 W. St. Charles St. in Andreas. San Andreas Fire Protection District Chief Don Young was first to arrive after the fire was reported at 2:42 a.m. Young said he saw “Flame in the basement/garage area and heavy smoke in the upper floor.”

Finding insurance is a huge problem for homeowners in the Sierra Nevada foothills. Delos is here to help you find insurance for your new home, a lower price for your current home, or help you out of a non-renewal situation. Delos is an independent insurance brokerage that focuses specifically on wildfire and brush areas. We can write any type of insurance: home, auto, umbrella, business and more. Young said that moments later the first two fire engines arrived. Young said that firefighters made entry through the garage door and were able to fairly quickly knock down fire in the basement. By then, however, the fire had spread to the upper floor, interior walls and attic. Fire personnel were on scene for several hours to mop up hot spots. Young said that no one was home and, in fact, the home’s residents had been evicted the previous day.

In addition to San Andreas Fire Protection District, agencies assisting with the fire were the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, Calaveras Consolidated Fire Protection District, Altaville-Melones Fire Protection District, and Angels Camp Fire Department.

Young said the cause of the fire is pending.

It's doesn't matter if you don't have one of those thing that keep this kind of thing from happening.

Glad no one was hurt anyway.
Looks like they'll be needing a new garage door, that one is looking pretty bad now.

Wow, just thinking here, this would be a great spot for a Garage Door Company to do a commercial.
I bet that deck is toast too. Wish I knew how to do that stuff.
I just heard the wife talking to her best friend last night on the phone about our deck. I didn't think it was too bad, but she said it was piss poor and tiny. Shoot, she was telling her friend she was wishing, dreaming, fantasying about having a big deck, it's all she can think about, daytime night time, all the time. Saying she'd just love to be on it all day, all night, on all fours, kissing it, waking up to it. Man, I sure wish I were handy and could do that kind of work and make her happy. Happy Wife, Happy Life they say. Wish I knew.
Maybe I'll see if they have one of those classes over in Columbia to be more handy around the house. If I could build a big deck around the house...but, well being in an apartment, I wonder if I could?
Maybe a Handy Man Commercial here would be good too?
