Several people enjoyed the Superbowl party and dinner hosted by the Boosters in the Murphys Native Sons Hall Sunday afternoon.
Money raised from the annual event will help purchase several items for the Bret Harte High School Bullfrogs Football team. "We donate all our money to the football team," said Colette Scales, Boosters president. Items that the Boosters have purchased for the team in the past include helmets, sleds, uniforms, and much more.
The Boosters plan to buy more safety items and equipment for the team with money raised from Sunday's event, Scales added. Her son, Seth Scales, is a Bret Harte junior and member of the Bullfrogs football team. Her other son, Tyler, who graduated from Bret Harte in 2006, also played on the Bullfrogs.
"I love going to all the (Bret Harte) games," Colette said, during a Superbowl commercial Sunday. She was to see the Giants win. "Either way is fine," she said.
One of the bonuses of the Boosters Superbowl Sunday party is the amount of screens the game plays on, she said. There were four TV's, one in each corner of the room, and a large movie-size projection of the game on one of the walls.
Several local businesses donated items for the afternoon's raffle.
