A Bit of Wisdom from Poor Richard

β€œThe World is full of fools and faint hearts; and yet every one has courage enough to bear the misfortunes, and wisdom enough to manage the Affairs of his neighbor.” ― Benjamin Franklin, Poor Richard's Almanack

Caring For Others
Posted on: 2017-09-13 10:23:46   By: Anonymous

Franklin promotes caring for others. This is in direct conflict in the T-Pub GOP Congress.
Four members from Texas voted against aid to Texas for the Harvey aid bill.
They also voted against hurricane Sandy aid a few years back.
They feign their Christianity , yet do not believe in charity , one of the main precepts of Christ.
This is GOP hypocrisy.
The Libertarian core is I got mine, I have none for those in need.

The problem with the Dems is that their "helping" people is really to just use them as victims as a path to power.

          So little reading comprehension. πŸ˜–
The quote isn't talking about "caring for your neighbor."
It's about learning to mind your own business.

I'm sure Franklin never imagined that a man as ill-prepared, stupid and deceitful as Trump would ever be our President. Ol' Ben must be turning in his grave.

The only good news is that I think Mueller has got the whole sorry lot of them in his net. Once a few start squealing it is over for Trump. And maybe Pence too.

For those of you who never look for real news, here's a quick flash. It is now documented that Trump's campaign colluded with Russia. Don Jr. released e-mails proving that. It is now documented that Trump had business interests in Russia and was, in fact, trying to negotiate for a Trump hotel in Moscow as late as January 2016, during the campaign. How many times during the campaign did Trump say he had no interests in Russia? Lucky for him lying is not a crime, but don't all you Trump supporters feel stupid for ever believing him? Don't you hate being played?

How "prepared" do you think Ben figured ANY presidential candidate would be?
All the presidents in Ben's day were private citizens, real estate investors and builders, just like good old Teflon Don...........DOH!

Must be humiliating for a person like you to think history began the day you were born, snowflake.

As Obama pointed out, no one is truly prepared because the job is unique. But Hillary was as prepared as someone could be while never having actually had the job before.

My point was that Trump is ill-prepared because he lacks character, curiosity, knowledge of the political world and of international affairs and relationships. He is not really even a good businessman (6 business bankruptcies) or deal-maker (deliberately pisses off politicians in his own party, gives Congress 6 months to fix DACA (i.e., a real deadline) and within 24 hrs tweets that if Congress doesn't succeed in 6 months, then Trump will "revisit it." How stupid is that? He has gotten nothing done in 9 months. He's the poster boy for how not to get deals done.

I didn't object to Trump's being an international businessman; I objected to his lying about his relationships with Russia. I don't think FDR was trying to build a hotel in Germany during WWII and having his lawyer contacting Hitler's PR guy for help with that on the sly.

Do you not mind his lying? Really? On so many things? Almost everything, in fact.

Most of what you think you "know" about the Clinton's is alt-right and Russian propaganda. Hillary has her flaws and has made some poor decisions but they are tiny and insignificant compared with Trump's.

The Republican Congress spent months and millions looking for anything she did wrong or lied about related to the Benghazi attack. The result? Nothing. She got paid a boat load of money to give speeches to Wall Street. Not politically smart, but hardly a crime. She was paid by people who make enormous amounts of money. Trump, on the other hand, was convicted of bilking ordinary people through Trump University, and you give him a pass.

Hillary made a poor decision on using her own e-mail server. But no one has shown any classified material was compromised. Trump was in office less than a month and passed Israeli secrets to the Russians and told the Philippine president, a Russian ally, the location of one of our nuclear subs. Jared Kushner tried to open a back channel communication link with Russia using gear in the Russian embassy! That is like Clinton using a Russian server instead of her own. And yet you give them a pass on all that.

None of the Clintons is paid by the Clinton Foundation and no one has shown it does anything but good works. Do you think the American Red Cross refuses donations from people it disapproves of? If the Saudis give the Clinton Foundation money that the Foundation uses to advance human rights, why is that a bad thing? It's not.

The Clintons have their flaws but in comparison Trump is a giant WART.

To quote another commenter, thank God "Lying Crooked Hillary" did not win. The Clinton political machine has been corrupt from its' inception. Wanting any Clinton back in the Whitehouse shows a lack of intellectual curiosity that is stunning on face value

In the end, Trump turns out to be the lying crooked candidate. His surrogates who led chants of "Lock her up" are likely to go to jail unless Trump pardons them.

Are you not seeing this? If not, change channels. Lying crooked Fox is not telling you the truth. It's on tape. Look for it. Believe your lyin' eyes. Well, eyes and ears in this case.
