Manteca Woman Shows Marsupial Like Tendencies In Concealing Contraband

Sonora, CA...Early Saturday morning, a Sheriff’s Deputy was patrolling the area of the Chicken Ranch Casino parking lot in Jamestown. He saw an open door on grey Ford sedan parked in a handicap spot with a woman asleep in the driver seat. The Deputy walked up to the sedan and noticed a bundle of cash on the woman’s lap and an open bottle of Rum in the back seat. A records check on the vehicle revealed the registration was expired. The deputy knocked on the car window and woke the woman who was identified as 40-year-old Jamie Wilcox of Manteca.

Sheriff’s Service K9 Maverick, was deployed to conduct an exterior sniff and he alerted on the vehicle. The Deputy searched the car and located a bag containing a little over 10 grams of psilocybin mushrooms and a methamphetamine smoking pipe.

Wilcox was arrested and transported to the Tuolumne County Jail. Once in the jail an additional methamphetamine pipe was found in her bra during a pat down search. During a strip search, Wilcox attempted to conceal an item within her person and refused to remove it. Wilcox refused to follow the commands of the Jail Deputy and a warrant had to be obtained to remove the contraband from her body.

Wilcox was transported to Adventist Health for an examination. When Deputies arrived at the hospital, they opened the patrol car door and saw a green plastic bag sitting in the floorboard along with a large amount of urine. Around the pool of urine, were several small shards of methamphetamine. During the medical examination an additional green plastic baggie was removed from Wilcox by medical staff.

Wilcox was transported back to the Tuolumne County Jail and booked on charges of bringing a controlled substance into the jail, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, destroying or concealing evidence and obstructing.
