Iraq and Afganistan War Veteran Recalls His Service
Arnold, CA...The Republicans of Ebbetts Pass hosted a meeting at the EPFD Station in Arnold on Wednesday. They invited Staff Sergeant Lance White who was raised in Murphys to recount some of his experiences while in service to his country in multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Sergeant White is a Soldier's Soldier. He mentioned that if he was asked to return to Iraq his bags would be packed in an hour. His unit participated in the initial Iraq war and was one of the first wave to cross the Euphrates River....
You could tell that some images from his service will stick with him. He mentioned the "Human Blenders" he saw and other instruments of human torture he saw first hand. He also mentioned that a huge majority of the Iraqis are glad we are there glad that Saddam's reign is over.
Many of his fellow Marines in his unit were killed or injured during their service. He also played a video that Marines from his unit made to honor those injured or killed. Staff Sergeant White deserves our thanks and gratitude for his service and willingness to put his life in harms way to protect our freedoms.
The video below starts a couple of minutes into his talk.
