USFS Says Mokelumne River Canyon Access Roads Closed Indefinitely Due To Storm Damage

Pioneer, CA...All 3 roads that provide access to the Mokelumne River Canyon are closed indefinitely due to storm damage: Salt Springs Road, Ellis Road, and Panther Creek Road. There is storm damage on all 18 national forests in California with a total of 557 damage sites on forest service roads regionally as of April 5, 2017. There are multiple damage sites on many roads, and the damage is significant in some places. Damage assessment is still in progress and will not be fully known until the snow melts. The photos here are from Panther Creek Road in the Amador Ranger District.

How are fire services going to get into this area with roads in this condition? I've heard that once in a while they have fires up this way.

Turn these jobs over to a private contractor, and these jobs would be completed in a month! Just like the bridge in White Pines, one of our super supes said it would be in place by May 1st, NOT! Talked to a person yesterday that said one of our local dirt mover's offered to do the work, at a very reasonable price, was turned down, you know every study, and government bull crap has to be followed in the mean time the taxpayer's are held hostage by inept Bozo's! Get it done, stupid?
