Reay Peart, 61 From Stockton Lost His Life In Fatal Hwy 12 Collision
San Andreas, CA...Robert Kimmel, 23 from Lodi was driving a 1993 Garbage Truck eastbound on SR-12, west of Central Hill Rd. at an unknown speed. Peart was driving a 2015 Chrysler van westbound on SR-12, west of Central Hill Rd. at an unknown speed. For an unknown reason, Kimmel lost control of his truck causing it to slide sideways and travel partially into the westbound traffic lane. As a result, the rear of the garbage truck collided with the left side of the Chrysler. The van received major left side intrusion resulting in fatal injuries to Mr. Peart.
Mr. Kimmel was transported to Modesto - Memorial and treated for moderate injuries. The passenger in the van was transported to Mark Twain Medical and treated for minor injuries.
Alcohol or drugs are not suspected to be a factor in this collision. SR-12 at this location was closed for approximately 3 1/2 hours and the collision is still under investigation.
From all of us at ThePineTree.net our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by this collision.
