Hwy 26 Back Open After Mud & Rock Slide
Mokelumne Hill, CA...On October 16, 2016, at approximately 1707 hours, San Andreas Area CHP Officers responded to reports of a mud/rock side on SR-26 between Montgomery Drive and Rich Gulch Road. Officers located several small mud/rock slides between Mokelumne Hill and Glencoe. Officers located a large mud/rock slide that was approximately 100 feet long and 1 1/2 feet deep, that covered most of SR-26, making the roadway impassable. This large slide was located approximately 1/2 mile east of Montgomery Drive. CALTRANS was requested and responded to handle the clean up. CALTRANS opened the roadway at approximately 2335 hours.
