Bear Valley Mountain Co-op Update Update As Of July 11th They Are Over 91%

Bear Valley, CA....The cooperative effort is gaining speed and that train is about to arrive at the station this month! If you are thinking about taking part in this effort to support jobs and drive the future of our local mountain resort, go to the co-op web site and get informed! www.bvmcoop.org This weeks events: The Bear Valley Mountain Cooperative presented a summary of their plans to purchase the mountain and village to a packed audience in Bear Valley on Saturday, July 5th. They detailed the structure and process to purchase the mountain and village along with details on how the co-op plans to roll out and pay for much needed improvements at Bear Valley. Key topics included...

Plan overview: The co-op leadership has created a detailed business plan for the next 3 years that includes details on improvements, financials, marketing, and management of the resort that will drive decision making for the near and log term. For a copy of the overview go to this link: http://www.bvmcoop.org/ - !co-op-news/cd9

Membership Deadline: Everyone needs to register to become a member by 7/15 in order to take part in the vote to ratify the purchase. It is super easy and the co-op is close to 80% of their required members to pull this off. Go to this link to find out how to become a member: http://www.bvmcoop.org/ - !join-today/c1zuh

Payment Deadline: All memberships need to be paid no later than 7/25 so that the funds can be available at the projected close on 8/1/14. Only paid members will be able to vote and review the purchase details. If you choose the payment plan, you only need to pay monthly invoices on time.

Mountain Management: The Bear Valley Mountain Cooperative announced last week that the management team from Mountain High/Stevens Pass resorts will team up with the BVMC to run operations at Bear Valley starting with the 2014/15 winter season. The Mountain High team lead by CEO and industry veteran, Karl Kapuscinski has been assisting the co-op during the due diligence period as well as the development of our financial and business plan. Assuming that the purchase proceeds forward, an agreement will be finalized where the Mountain High team will appoint an experienced GM form their team and leverage their extensive resources to make this plan come to life.
