High Energy Blues comes to Utica Park by way of the Calaveras Arts Council's Music in the Parks 2014

Angels Camp, Ca...Music in the Parks second of ten free music performances bring to town Oakland’s hot blues players, The Delta Wires. They are bright , good musicians who tastefully and cleverly combine jump, swing, rhythm and blues, rock and soul, with an elegant artistic sensibility which makes an impressive, rockin’ high quality blues band. The Delta Wires are Ernie Pinata on harmonica and vocals; Tom Gerrits on bass and vocals; Richard Healy on guitar; Tony Huszar on drums; Larry Jonutz on trumpet and backup; Jim Orsetti on sax and backup vocals; Gerry Jonutz on sax and backup vocals...

Calaveras Arts Council’s Free Music in the Park 2014 series shows its musical dexterity off at Angels Camp’s Utica Park on Wednesday June 18. Music plays from 6:30 to 8:00 pm, but come early, bring your picnic dinner, and sit back to enjoy the evening.

The Delta Wires have performed for MIP in the past but they are also seen and heard around the state and US. They have performed at the blues festivals in San Francisco, Russian River, Monterey, Shasta, Redding, Crescent City, and beyond. They were inducted into the California Blues Hall of Fame in December 2012.

So give your friends and family a call and plan your Wednesday evening in the tree covered park in Angels Camp. It may be warm that day but for sure, the music will be hot.

Utica Park is on the west side of Highway 49 in Angels Camp. It is across the street from the Tower Gas Station. Turn onto Sams Way to get into the parking lot.

Celtic favorites, Men of Worth perform their enchanting music on Wednesday, June 25 in Angels Camp at CAMPS Restaurant at Greenhorn Creek. For a downloadable schedule of Music in the Parks and other events presented by the Calaveras Arts Council go to www.calaverasarts.org or call (209)754-1774.

The non-profit Calaveras County Arts Council operates The Gallery Store at 22 Main Street in San Andreas. Hours are Monday - Thursday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Friday and Saturdays, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The store offers free parking both in front and in back and is handicapped accessible. Become an Arts Council member and receive a 10% discount on all your gallery purchases. For more information, call the Calaveras Arts Council at (209) 754-1774 or visit www.calaverasarts.org.
