Murphys, CA...Save the Date - June 20-22, 2014 - Behind the Bottle Weekend - The week-end kicks-off on Friday night with a concert in Murphys Park. Bring a folding chair and a couple of blankets to settle in for a night of swing music by the band Swing Gitane. Wines by the glass and food will be available for purchase. No ticket required. Or, if you are looking for something more in depth join us for an exclusive and elegant Farm-to-Table dinner with our winemakers and winery owners. Here you will get to taste some of the best wines of Calaveras and chat with the people who make them. They will be pouring their wines before dinner and then will join you at your table during the exquisite four-course gourmet meal featuring local foods from Calaveras County. Spend the rest of the weekend chatting with your favorite winery staff while sampling their latest releases, or attend a wine appreciation, wine making, wine blending, food pairing, cheese or charcuterie workshop. May 24, 2014 - Grand Opening of the Calaveras Big Trees Visitor Center and 150th Anniversary Celebration - The California Department of Parks and Recreation and Calaveras Big Trees Association are collaborating on a grand opening celebration of the new visitor center in conjunction with the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the first California state park. Come to the park at 11 a.m. for the official opening ceremony, followed by guided walks, children’s activities, and various surprises until 4 p.m. Food will be available for purchase. Please come and help us celebrate this grand occasion.
