Celebrated Jumping Frogs on Start Their 2014 Tour! The Capital Frog Jump Is Today!!!

Angels Camp, CA....The Celebrated Jumping Frogs of Calaveras County are hitting the road to build excitement for their signature event - the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee - at Frogtown in Angels Camp on May 15-18. The frog tour begins with a jaunt to the State Capitol in Sacramento on April 30 and includes visit to local school and a special Frog Jump preview event on for May 6 at Calaveras County Government Center....

The State Capitol Jump on April 30 is hosted by State Senator Tom Berryhill who represents Calaveras County. It begins at noon on the East Lawn of the Capitol. The Kitchell Family of Angels Camp, who are defending their Frog Jump winning streak this year, will be on hand to cheer on state lawmakers, staff members and media who compete every year in this Frog Jump preview event.

County officials will welcome the frogs on May 6 for the annual Government Center Frog Jump. The event is held at noon with various county departments competing for the title. This is an offical sanctioned jump, with the winner automatically advancing to the Grand Finals on May 19.

The Frog Wranglers, a volunteer group dedicated to the history and community pride reflected in the Jumping Frog Jubilee, arrange the frogs' personal appearance tour every year. The history of the event based on the story by Mark Twain figures prominently in their visits to local schools.

School frog appearances include San Andreas Elementary School and Christian Family Learning Center in Angles Camp on May 2 and West Point Elementary School on May 5.
