The CCOG is facilitating and coordinating a project prioritization process for the Active Transportation Program (ATP) funding opportunity. A webinar will be held on April 21, 2014 at the Mark Twain Medical Center in San Andreas to review with the public the prioritization process for ATP project applications. The webinar will include an overview of the eligible projects for consideration as derived from the Regional Transportation Plan (RTP), the prioritization process, and a short list of projects to apply for funding. The goal is to develop competitive grant applications for projects to be funded under this program in Calaveras County and the City of Angels Camp.

The ATP is a competitive grant program that was created to encourage increased use of active modes of transportation, such as biking and walking. Applications are due to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) by May 21, 2014. Eligible projects under the ATP include infrastructure as well as non-infrastructure bicycle, pedestrian, and safe routes to school projects. For more information on the ATP, please visit http://www.dot.ca.gov/hq/LocalPrograms/atp/.

For more information on bicycle and pedestrian planning in Calaveras County or for a list of RTP projects under consideration, please visit www.walkandbikecalaveras.org.
