Unity Spiritual Center Presents Spirit/Mind/Body Expo April 19 in Sonora

Sonora, CA ... The upcoming Third Annual Spirit/Mind/Body Expo will be a landmark event for the Sierra foothill communities, featuring world-class speakers in its conference/workshop program, a sold-out exhibit area, both inside and outside of Sonora’s Historic Opera Hall, live entertainment on two stages, plus healthy tasty food provided by Schnoog’s Café. Conferences are in the Stage 3 Theater from 9am to 4pm.The Opera Hall exhibits run from 11 am to 4pmand the Grand finale procession and performance is4pm to 5pm, Amazingly, all of this is presented to the community with Free Admission, and a suggested raffle-ticket purchase, with proceeds going to benefit the two sponsoring organizations, Unity Spiritual Center and Foothill Collaborative for Sustainability. Tickets available at the event website, www.SpiritMindBodyExpo.com.

The purpose of the event is to “Celebrate Wholeness” by providing the community with exposure to new products, services, and knowledge about all the modes of living a quality life in spirit, mind, and body. To achieve this, event organizers have reached deep into local resources such as Calaveras County’s Dr. John Adams, who is a studied and traveled proponent of community resilience and sustainability. Also featured in the workshops will be Ashgar Gholami, whose Sufi spiritual practices will give workshop attendees a different perspective on the Universe. Renaissance-man Misha Rauchwerger will try to inspire his audience to become producers of what they need instead of just consumers. Local educator Sally Arnold will introduce us to “Mindful Parenting,” an enlightened approach to raising our families. Resource expert, Pete Kampa will show us how to be drought-resistant, and Dr. Jakob Jaggy and co-presenter Erin Ross will show us how to connect mind, body, and heart, for a thriving community.
There is much more in the “Know-a-Sphere” conference program, which is available on the web site. a-Sphere” conference program, which is available on the web site. At midday, attendees at the Stage 3 Theatre will be treated to an inspiring keynote presentation by Michael Gosney, of San Francisco’s “Eco-Evolution Radio” and podcast. Mr. Gosney is a new media innovator and evolutionary culture thought-leader whose companies, projects and events have played defining roles in several industries and social movements since the early 1980s, including holistic health, deep ecology, desktop publishing, digital art, CD-ROM/multimedia, cyberculture, conscious entertainment and festival culture, online music, intentional communities and the sustainability movement. He has authored 16 books, and is Managing Director of Techné Verde, a non-profit research and production group in partnership with Buckminster Fuller Institute, focused on technology solutions for progressive philanthropic organizations and NGOs.
Other activities at the Expo include a children’s craft and play area, good food from Schnoog’s Café, a mystical labyrinth, and an interactive finale that all are invited to participate in. At 4pm during the event, a magical transformation takes place as Mountain Motion, our famous foothill trio-of-fun, take center stage at Stage 3. Their juggling and comedy is great family fun for all ages. As their performance ends, they will lead a parade including anyone who wants to join in from the Theatre to the Opera Hall where they will meet the Sonora Drum Circle on stage for a high-energy finale that will leave you smiling inside and out.

The Spirit, Mind, Body Expo is a project of Unity Spiritual Center and Foothill Collaborative for Sustainability (FoCuS) www.FoothillSustainability.org; both are qualified 501(c)3 non-profit organizations. Contributions or gifts made for this event may qualify for tax deduction. Unity Spiritual Center is a member of Unity Ministries Worldwide, publishers of The Daily Word.
