Ebbetts Pass Forest Watch and Newsome Harlow Tasting Room Host The Sierra Nevada Film Festival April 19

Murphys, CA ... The Sierra Nevada Film Festival celebrates its tenth year with a free film screening of "Tell It on the Mountain–Stories of the Pacific Crest Trail" at the Harlow Tasting Room on Saturday, April 19. 2014. Doors open 7pm for wine tasting. The film screens at sundown in the courtyard. The Newsome Harlow Tasting Room is located at 403 Main Street, Murphys CA. Admission is free. "Tell It on the Mountain–Stories of the Pacific Crest Trail" is part adventure film, part documentary, and part video journal. It follows a diverse cast of characters as they undertake a life-changing journey along the Pacific Crest Trail, a string of trails running from the US-Mexico border, through the heart of California, Oregon and Washington, and ending seven miles into Canada. Lisa Diener, Shaun Carrigan | 2013 | 119 min. | USA

The film festival benefits the work of Ebbetts Pass Forest Watch, a non-profit organization in Arnold. Ebbetts Pass Forest Watch promotes responsible, sustainable timber harvest practices through public education, legal action, and coordination with other conservation groups. www.forestwatchers.org

Newsome Harlow is hosting the film festival in the courtyard of their wine lounge. With a reputation for hosting some of the area's best winery events and a loyal following since 2000, you can expect exciting things from this new generation of Calaveras vintners. Wine tasting starts at 7pm. A portion of proceeds for wine purchases will be donated to Ebbetts Pass Forest Watch. www.nhvino.com/
