Murphys, CA...The official weather reports are in and a sunny 75-degree day is predicted for Murphys Irish Day, Saturday, March 15. “The weather plays a major role in the success of this annual celebration,” says Jim Heryford, president of the Murphys Business Association, the organizers of the event. “We couldn’t be more pleased.” Activities begin at 8 a.m. with a pancake breakfast at the Congregational Church. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. festivities will include live entertainment, arts and craft vendors, pony rides, a wide variety of foods and beverages, and a raffle with a trip to Ireland as grand prize. At 11 a.m. a parade featuring bagpipes, marching groups, horses and other animals, classic cars, a ten-foot-tall leprechaun and much more will make its way down Main Street....
There is no admission charge. Free parking and shuttle service is available at Ironstone Vineyards on Six Mile Road. There is also paid parking adjacent to Main St. When traveling to the event motorists should use Highway 4, and not Murphys Grade Road.
