What’s Happening in Murphys this Week March 4 through March 12

Murphys, CA....Mark your calendar now for Irish Day in Murphys, March 15 - Each year on the third Saturday in March, Murphys shuts down Main Street and prepares to celebrate like only the Irish can. Join us for a parade at 11 am, stay to eat, taste and shop the Irish Day booth, local tasting rooms and stores of Murphys, buy a raffle ticket for a chance to win our famous trip to Ireland, enjoy music, dancing and Celtic entertainment on our two stages and wrap the day up with dinner at one of our restaurants. 10 am to 5 pm - get here early to grab a good spot to watch the parade. Main Street will be closed to traffic from 6 am to 6 pm. You can purchase raffle tickets now at many locations in town...just look for the raffle poster...



Wine Down Friday @ Stevenot - Each first Friday of each month from 5-8 pm Stevenot hosts "Wine Down Friday" in the Tasting Room on Main St. Murphys. This is an opportunity to meet the owners and staff while enjoying Stevenot Wines by the glass, party platters, and live music. Call 209-728-3485 for more information.

February at Art on Main - The "Featured Artist of the Month" for March is Duane Papais. Duane is known for his very creative graphic art posters, including the San Francisco Giants; the San Francisco 49er's; and, locally, the many historic business storefronts along Main Street in Murphys.
March Artist Showing at Hovey Tasting Room - The award-winning watercolor paintings of Bambi Papais will be showcased the month of March at Hovey Winery Tasting Room, 350 A Main St., Murphys. An artist’s reception in her honor will be held Sunday, March 2 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. with complimentary appetizers and wine available by the glass for $5.The tasting room is open daily from noon to 5:30 p.m.

Tuesdays in Murphys - Winemakers Night at Alchemy - every Tuesday night from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. Enjoy a featured wine and a great meal. As always, there is live music on the patio from 5:30-8 pm. Call 209.728.0700 for reservations.

Thursdays in Murphys - Romantic Dinners for Two with Live Music at Angelos Steakhouse Italiano. Nicholas Lefler plays on Thursdays from 7-9 pm. Call 209-728-9200 for more information.

Fridays & Saturdays in Murphys - Local Food & Wine Tours - Join Murphys Food and Wine Tours every Friday and Saturday from 11:00am to 2:30 pm. Each tour is approximately three and a half hours. Fridays and Saturdays at Zucca Tasting Room - "Zucca After Hours" is open 5-8 pm. If you're looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a glass of wine on a Friday or Saturday night, the Zucca garden is your place. Enjoy our firepits on a cool winter evening outside or we've got some nice bar seating in the Toscano room. And we always welcome your picnic items or takeout from area restaurants should you want to make a night of it."

March 7, 2014 - Big Band Night in Murphys - The Murphys Senior Center invites you to join them for a night of music and dancing from 5:30 to 9 pm. The night features a silent auction, no host bar and awesome appetizers. Call 209-728-1672 for reservations and information.

March 9, 2014 - New Release Party at Hovey Tasting Room - Hovey Winery will hold a New Release Party from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The public is invited to taste 2013 Hovey Chardonnay and 2012 Hovey Barbera for the first time, as well as enjoy complimentary appetizers and special event discounts. In addition, tastes will be offered of the newly-released 2012 Block 9 Petite Sirah port-style dessert wine.
