Angels Camp, CA...Dawn E. Hartwig of Angels Camp died Thursday, February 6, 2014. She was 44. Dawn was born July 24, 1969 in Oakland, California to David and Danielle Hartwig. Dawn was a resident of Calaveras County for 40 years. Dawn was a mother, gifted artist, sculptor and musician. Dawn enjoyed horseback riding, playing her guitar, singing and she was a skilled chess player as well as a pool player. Dawn worked along side Miles Metzger for years at his studio. In recent years she became a published author of books that instruct people on how to carve soft stones....
Dawn is survived by her daughter Serenity Heather Dawn Genescritti. Heather, as Dawn’s daughter was referred to, will be residing in Kailua, Kona Hawaii with her father Frank Genescritti. Her Grandfather and Grandmother, Frank (Pat) Genescritti and Aunt Judy also reside on Kona. She is survived by her step-mother Hanne Hartwig of Spring Valley, CA; James Gregory of Bellingham, WA.; Ginger Gregory of Napa, CA; Edward Wedertz of Las Vegas, Nevada; Kim Kemper of Indianapolis, IN; Re (Craig) Anderson of Sonora, CA.; she was preceded in death by her Father, David of Chicago, IL and her loving grandfather Al Gregory of Napa, California.
Viewing will begin at 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. Thursday, February 13th at Angels Memorial Chapel, Angels Camp. A Celebration of Life will be held in April and will be announced.
