About Us
In 2009 a group of parents got together with the idea of starting a children's theater for the children of Calaveras County. CSTARS! Kids was born and we have been providing performance opportunities for children ages 5-18 every since. In doing so our hope is that every child that is a part of our company is taught a life long love and respect for the arts through the roles they play and the friends they meet.
CSTARS understands the need to keep costs to a minimum. We asks families and friends to help in ways that match their talents and means, such as building sets, sewing costumes (or hunting through thrift stores), supervising back stage, or baking cookies for intermission. We are so lucky to be surrounded families so willing to help make are productions so successful for our kids.
We are an all inclusive, nonprofit, children's theater company. All of the adults involved are volunteers from directors, stage crew, lighting and sound, and set construction. We rely heavily on donations from our community to pay for theater and rehearsal space as well as securing rights, and insurance.
