CCWD Plans to Flush Lines in Rancho Calaveras, Jenny Lind and LaContenta Areas

San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras County Water District (CCWD) will be flushing main water lines in the Jenny Lind water system, which includes areas in Rancho Calaveras, Jenny Lind, LaContenta and various Valley Springs commercial areas, intermittently from early January through the months of February, March and April 2014....

During the flushing of main water lines, water customers may experience low water pressure and/or slightly discolored water, which is not harmful to health. It is also normal for large amounts of water to flow into streets and gutters. CCWD will place informational signs in areas being flushed. When signs are posted it is recommended that customers refrain from washing clothes, as flushing may draw discolored water into lines and stain clothing. Low water pressure and water conditions should return to normal within a few hours of flushing activities. If the water is discolored allow a faucet to run until the water runs clear. For further questions or concerns, please contact CCWD office at (209) 754-3543.

Calaveras County Water District is a public agency committed to meeting the diverse needs of the historical gold country that spans 1,100 square miles. CCWD is responsible for potable water delivery, wastewater collection, recycled water distribution, groundwater management and hydropower generation facilities in the county. Through responsible management and innovative planning, CCWD strives to protect the region’s rich resources and advance its mission to serve the public.
