Bear Valley Opening Day Delayed Winterfest and Fundraising Events for Local Schools to Continue as Scheduled

Bear Valley, CA...Lift access for skiing and snowboarding at Bear Valley Mountain scheduled for November 30 has been delayed. Light snowfall to date combined with strong winds and minimal snow in the forecast forced the delay. Bear Valley does not have a projected opening date at this time, but will continue to provide updates through social networks and www.bearvalley.com. Bear Valley Resort will continue other planned Thanksgiving holiday activities, including the Polar Dash fundraising event on November 30 to support local schools as well as a full WINTERFEST weekend of activities...

Make a trip to the mountains a new Thanksgiving tradition. Join us for activities all weekend long beginning with Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, open house and Back-country film festival on Friday eve, followed by the POLAR DASH (A.K.A POLAR SCENIC HIKE) on Saturday morning. Lodging deals available in conjunction with events so bring family and friends and head to the mountains.

Here’s the scoop:

9AM – Registration begins in the SUNROOM for the POLAR SCENIC HIKES.
9:30AM – Scenic Hikes begin by loading Kuma chair for a spectacular ride to the top of the mountain and take in the breathtaking view on what is expected to be a crisp but clear and sunny Saturday Morning. We can’t think of better way to start the day ;) Two courses are planned and our ski patrol will be on hand to show you the way to the Village route, or the route back to the day lodge on Mountain. (Note due to snow conditions, there will be NO skiing or riding via lift access)

$10 gets you one adult registration (18+)
$5 half price for anyone 17 years or younger
Registration fee includes Lift Ride for Scenic Hike, breakfast, commemorative T-shirt.

NOTE: 13/14 Pass holders may present their pass in the SUNROOM to receive a ticket for a free ride up Kuma lift (does not include breakfast or T-shirt UNLESS you register as a participant and support our local schools…thanks for your support!!

Not ready to head up the lift, you can still join us for breakfast and come out an enjoy the fun. Chef Henry is planning a delicious brunch and Melissa will be on hand in the Monte Wolfe Saloon. Lift will be available for rides to the top and walk down and enjoy one of the most spectacular views in the Central Sierra.
$10 Cost to ride the chair lift (Free to 13/14 pass holders, must present pass at check in to receive lift ticket to ride)
$10 Breakfast for non-participants.

All Proceeds benefit local schools. Reba sports and the bar will be open. Come pick up your season pass!
