Major Injuries to Pine Grove Woman in Glencoe Accident. Glancing At Cellphone Ruled Cause

Glencoe, CA...On November 24 at approximately 2:50pm a 27 year old Pine Grove woman was her 2001 Chevrolet S-10 Eastbound on Hwy 26 west of Robinson Ranch at approximately 40 mph. Westbound at approximately 40-45 mph was a 65 year old woman from Valley Springs. The Pine Grove woman took her attention away from the roadway for approximately 1 second to look at her phone. She allowed her vehicle to veer to the left, crossing over the double yellow lines, into the westbound lane directly into the path of the oncoming Dodge Dakota....

She attempted to avoid a collision by steering the S-10 to the right. The ensuing head on collision caused both vehicles to become disabled blocking both lanes of Hwy 26.

The Pine Grove woman was flown by air ambulance to Doctors Hospital in Modesto for treatment of major injuries and the Valley Springs woman was taken to Mark Twain Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
