Newest Eagle Scout for Troop 343 of Murphys
Murphys, CA...Paul Schuck, 18, was added to Boy Scout Troop 343’s list of Eagle Scouts at a ceremony held at the Lions Hut in Murphys. Paul started scouts when he was 7 years old as a Tiger Cub Scout and not long after that he began saying that he wanted to be an Eagle Scout one day. He achieved that goal on July 17, 2013. For Paul’s Eagle Project he made a wooden sign for Harmony Ranch, a non-profit therapeutic horseback riding program for children and adults with or without special needs. Harmony Ranch is located in Mountain Ranch and run by Tara Glessman. Paul did most of the work on the sign at the Bret Harte High School woodshop under the direction of Verne Johnson....

After the sign was completed, Paul asked his fellow scouts to dig, cement the permanent posts and hang the sign at Harmony Ranch. Paul lives in Douglas Flat with his parents, Craig and Pattie Schuck, and his sister, Monica.
