Pacific Gas and Electric Company Donates To Calaveras Community Foundation

The Career and Technical Training Scholarship Fund, founded in 2010, helps to support alternative forms of higher education, including two-year junior college and trade school certificates. “PG&E is proud to support the Calaveras Community Foundation’s Career and Technical Training Scholarship Fund,” said Dylan George, Public Affairs Representative for PG&E. “Participating in this Fund enables PG&E to accomplish two of our most important goals - investing in the communities we serve by helping young people attain technical skills needed for a career in the work world and developing a strong work force that will be prepared to do the work needed to maintain and improve PG&E’s electric and gas systems.”
Near the end of last school year, C&TT scholarships of $1200 each were presented to eight local high-school applicants – these funds originating from CCF’s business and corporate donors like PG&E. Students from both Calaveras High School and Bret Harte High School were recognized as well as a young man being home-schooled. Anticipated fields of study include court reporting, heavy equipment, mechanics, electrical lineman, diagnostic imaging, agricultural and more.
CCF administers the funds that make these scholarships possible.
