Tantilizing Tasty Thai Class at Marisolio

Established in January, 2000, RANCHO MARISOL fulfilled a dream of owner Mary Lou Schuster, retired Spanish teacher. The vision of owning an organic olive orchard was just the beginning. Today, the 43 acre Rancho Marisol, in Copperopolis, California, boasts nearly 4,000 olive trees producing oil from four distinct olive varietals: Leccino and Frantoio, (Tuscan olives from northern Italy), Arbequina (Spanish olives), and Kalamata ( a popular Greek varietal).
Mary Lou began distributing her oil throughout Calaveras and Tuolumne counties and set up demonstration tables in local markets. Her high quality oils, Arbequina, Kalamata and Los Padres- a blend of Frantoio and Lecciono- became immediate customer favorites. In Spanish, los padres means "the parents" and it is this name she dedicated- in memory of her parents- the label of her first oil blend. Currently, Rancho Marisol oils can be found in every fine market throughout Stanislaus, Calaveras and a few San Joaquin county stores.
Spurred by her love of all things olive, came the idea of a retail olive oil store- thus, the genesis of Marisolio Tasting Bar, located on Main Street, Murphys, CA. The store features the freshest oil available from around the world, California, and of course, her own oils. In Addition, the tasting bar has close to 25 unique and flavorful Balsamic and Wine Vinegars. Everything else in the store is olive too!
Olio in Italian means oil. To differentiate ranch products from the other oils in the store, Mary Lou chose the name "Marisolio" with its definite Italian "ring" to combine beautifully with the name La Folia Winery. This new winery and it's owner, Ryan Teeter, will begin pouring their Italian wines in the store to complement your tasting experience very shortly. Come visit and taste for yourself!
