Update on Arnold Stolen Vehicle and Weapons Case
Arnold, CA...We just spoke with Calaveras County Sheriff PIO Sgt. Chris Hewitt on the stolen vehicle case and pursuit of suspects in Arnold yesterday afternoon. The vehicle was ditched on the dirt road behind the Logging Museum. Multiple agencies were involved what made it a bit more chaotic is there may have actually been two chases. One for the actual suspects in the stolen vehicle and the second chasing the owner of the stolen vehicle chasing the stolen vehicle....
The suspects in the stolen vehicle dumped several rifles or shotguns along their route during the chase.
The suspects remain at large and are described as white males. There are some clues however and CHP is taking the lead on the investigation. They are working to identify the owners of the guns with one possibility that some of the weapons were in the vehicle that was stolen.
Now that our update probably caused more confusion that it cleared...more to follow...
