Sacramento Man Calvin Scott, 49, Loses Life in Accident Last Night

Valley Springs, CA...Just before 8pm last night Calvin Scott, a 49 year old Sacramento Man was riding his 1993 Harley Davidson on Eastbound Line Creek Road just east of Hwy 12. A 22 year old Valley Springs Man was driving his 2001 Honda Civic at approximately 40 mph approaching Hwy 12. For an unknown reason the rider of the Harley Davidson allowed his motorcycle to cross over the solid yellow lines and into the opposing traffic lane directly into the path of the Honda...

The motorcycle collided head on with the Honda and the rider was ejected from his motorcycle and landed in the middle of the roadway.

The impact caused the Sacramento Man to suffer fatal injuries. The helmet he was wearing was not a DOT approved helmet and may have contributed to his injuries becoming fatal.

The driver of the Honda was wearing his seat belt and suffered only minor injuries. At the scene however he was displaying symptoms of alcohol or drug impairment and was arrested at the scene for driving under the influence pending the result of a chemical test.and may be facing criminal charges.
