This meeting is our first off-site meeting of the school year. It will be held at West Point Elementary School. Closed session begins at 4:30 p.m. and open session begins at 5:30 p.m....

e. Overnight Events/Field Trips
It is recommended the Board approve the following overnight events/field trips:
1. Calaveras High School Cross Country
The CHS Cross Country team is participating in the North Tahoe High School Race, September 13 and 14. Accommodations will be at two home rentals in Carnelian Bay. Chaperones will be Coach Tammy Lisk, Eric Lisk and other parent/guardians.
2. West Point Elementary Science Camp
West Point Elementary’s 5th and 6th graders will attend Science Camp at Point Reyes, California
September 23 through 27, 2013. They will stay at the Clem Miller Environmental Center. Travel will be in District Vans. Teachers Jim Casey and Katie Hood, as well as Linda Toren and Erin Strange will chaperone. This is paid through fundraising.
3. Mokelumne Hill and Rail Road Flat Elementary Schools Science Camp
Mokelumne Hill and Rail Road Flat Elementary Schools’ 6th graders will attend Science Camp at Walker Creek Ranch in Petaluma, California, January 14-17, 2014. Transportation will be provided by CUSD school buses and teacher Michelle Olivarria and Randall Youngblood will be chaperones. This is paid through the site fundraising.
f. Mokelumne Hill Elementary Partners in Education (pp 17-23)
The Mokelumne Hill Elementary Partners in Education presents their organization’s bylaws
to the Calaveras Unified School District Board of Trustees.

Authorization is requested to continue an agreement with American Fidelity to administer the Section 125 Flexible Benefit Plan for the 2013/14 school year.

2. Approval, Waiver Request for Pupil Personnel Services Credential with School Counseling
For Ingrid Hjelmervik
The University internship credential route provides an opportunity for candidates who have been offered employment to complete their clinical practice while employed in an appropriate position as a school counselor. Ingrid Hjelmervik will meet eligibility for a Counseling Internship in October 2013. To bridge the gap between now and her University internship, the District must apply for a waiver with the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. It is recommended the Board approval the request for a Waiver.
3. Approve Permanent Status for Abigail Ferrell
Abigail Ferrell was employed as a part-time (.50) teacher in July 2011 and has earned permanent, part-time (.50) status with the District effective July 26, 2013.

Unified School District. The estimated cost is $620, to be paid through the general fund.
