Heisinger Memorial Golf Tournament Raises More Than $12,000 for Hospice
Arnold, CA...Sonora Regional Medical Center’s Hospice of the Sierra was presented with a check for $12,436 recently, representing the proceeds of the 6th Annual Heisinger Memorial Golf Tournament and Dinner. The tournament, held this year at Sequoia Woods Golf and Country Club in Arnold on June 22, was started by Dick Heisinger of Arnold, and now serves as a memorial benefit for Dick and his wife Jackie, both of whom received Hospice care.

Family members Steve and David Heisinger, and Debbie Bruneau attended the check presentation ceremony on August 9. Commenting on the importance of Hospice services to caregivers, David said, “Without Hospice, who would you call at one in the morning for help and get reassurance that you are doing the right thing?”
“We are very grateful that the Heisinger family has chosen to pay tribute to their parents by making their annual tournament a benefit for Hospice. It is a wonderful way to say thank you for the care that their parents received” said Gail Witzlsteiner, Executive Director of the Sonora Regional Medical Center Foundation.
The memorial tournament is organized each year by the Heisinger family and the Ebbetts Pass Moose Lodge. Hospice volunteers help in the planning stages of the tournament, as well as on the day of the event.
Sonora Regional Medical Center’s Hospice of the Sierra serves more than 300 patients and makes over 5,000 patient visits annually.
