Major Injuries in Murphys Grade Road Accident
Murphys, CA...On Thursday, July 18th at 5:15pm a 20 year old woman from New Mexico was driving westbound on Murphys Grade Road west of French Gulch road at approximately 30 - 35 miles per hour in clear sunny conditions. A 65 year old Murphys woman was was driving eastbound. The driver westbound car was temporarily blinded by the sun as she rounded a right-hand radius curve in the roadway and allowed her Chevy Cobalt tor cross over the double yellow lines and into the path of the easbound Honda Accord....
After the head on collison both vehicles came to rest in the roadway.
The Murphys woman was life flighted to Doctors Hospital in Modesto with major injuries and the New Mexico woman was life flighted to Modesto Memorial with minor injuries.
