Sierra Nevada Logging Museum Revved Up
Arnold, CA... I wanted to say that things were hopping, but obviously that wouldn't have been appropriate this close to the Frog Jump, so we'll have to go with revving up our saws....
The museum has been open for a little over two months, and visitor numbers are up. The museum is open from noon to 4:00 Thursdays through Sunday. There are new exhibits inside, the outdoor exhibits are in great shape, and the grounds are a beautiful setting for a picnic or an educational stroll.
On August 31st, the Saturday of Labor Day, we are holding our 18th Annual Logging Jamboree. Amateur instruction and competition starts at 9:00 AM and the professionals will begin about noon. Great food, games, raffle, silent auction, we hope a run of our Shay on its short track, tours, and much more. Great day of fun and for only $5.00 per person.
On October 12th is our Snag Fallers Ball. Wonderful food, dancing, Western music by Danny Elzig. Danny was very well received last year and promises to be even better this year. Independence Hall in White Pines, starting at 5:00, dinner at 6:00, and dancing and socializing following.
