A Fresh Take on Angels Camp Certified Farmer’s Market 2013 Season!

Angels Camp, CA...Last year’s growth of the Farmer’s Market was very exciting and this year is shaping up to be even better, with new farms, delicious new food vendors, exciting entertainment, and a new market manager, Andrea Modrell. Andrea was born and raised in Angels Camp and will be bringing a fresh new approach to the market this year. The Angels Camp Certified Farmer’s Market starts June 7th and will go through September. For four months, visitors to the market will be able to enjoy Friday evenings in the park and fresh, locally grown produce and specialty foods. The Farmer’s Market will be held every Friday starting at 5pm and ending at dusk in Utica Park...

The Certified Farmer’s Market will have familiar farms and food producers that include Oneto Farm, Farbotnik Farm, and Apkarian Family Farm. There will be new farms and specialty foods, which will include jams and syrups, fresh herbs and nursery plants, and produce from Outer Aisle. Visitors to the market will continue to see local olive oil, fresh baked breads and desserts, local foraged mushrooms, nuts and fruits, farm fresh eggs, spices and marinades, kettle corn and so much more.

This year, we are pleased to announce the addition of Sidewinders and T-Roy’s Smoke Shack as our new food vendors. Sidewinders has been delighting their guests with their exciting California – Mexican, with a touch of Spanish influence, fusion food, which has proven to be a dining hot spot in downtown Angels Camp. Visitors to the Farmer’s Market will be able to choose from hot prepared foods made by Sidewinders including tacos, burritos and salads. T-Roy’s Smoke Shack will be offering BBQ sandwiches, will their slow smoked meat, which will include pulled pork, brisket and sausage links.

Local wine tasting, with a featured local guest winery, and beer sales will again be offered each week. Every Friday a winery representative or the winemaker themselves will offer wine samples along with sales by the glass and bottle for patrons to enjoy with their dinner, while strolling for fresh local produce and goods or being entertained by the weekly talented musical artists and groups.

The first two weeks of the market are already proving to include an exciting lineup of the best in Calaveras. Opening night of the market on June 7th will feature the award winning wines, and local favorite, of Four Winds Cellars with live music from the wonderful Spanish guitarist Nicholas Lefler. June 14th will feature the ACBA appreciation night with the dedication of the new BBQ to the city, and another local favorite, Newsome Harlow Wines, with musical entertainment by the extremely talented Grover Anderson.
