Linda Ruth Shaffer 1941 - 2013

Arnold, CA....Linda, born September 30, 1941 in Denver, CO, is the daughter of Carl and Dorothy Johnson.  After moving several times in the early years of her marriage, she ultimately settled in Castro Valley, CA to raise her family.  She later moved to Brentwood and then Discovery Bay, CA and spent the past 10+ years enjoying retirement with her beloved husband of 50 years in the mountains of Arnold, CA...

Linda, a past member of the US Navy, worked in both the hotel hospitality industry and health insurance industry for more than 30 years. She loved entertaining, reading, golf, travel and spending time with family and friends.

After a short battle with cancer, Linda passed away peacefully on May 29, 2013, at the agent of 71, surrounded by family.

She is survived by her husband John, daughters Michelle Marra, Sallie Smith, Sandi Gill and Kristin Linney and grandchildren Ashley, Tony, Haley, Morgan, Ciana, Emma, Megan, John, Lauren and Remington, as well as, her faithful pup Taz.

She was loved and will be missed greatly.

At Linda's request, no formal services will be held, however donations can be made in her memory to The National Kidney Foundation at: www.kidney.org/Donate
