Variety of Entertainment Planned for the 2013 Calaveras Fair

Angels Camp, CA...The Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee is rooted deep in tradition. That is one of the things that makes the Fair so special. The Fair also has a traditional formula for entertainment, Miss Calaveras, Saddle Queen, Rodeo Events, Country Music Headline Concert (The Farm), Frog Jump and the Destruction Derby. The good news for fair-goers is that the Fair will feature all of those events and more!

Added to the entertainment lineup this year are so some new and exciting acts and competitions. On Friday night May 17, the arena will be on fire with Motorx. Rider Jimmy Fitzpatrick will lead the pack. Riders display their jumps - usually covering more than 60 feet - from a metal take off ramp to a metal landing ramp. Riders demonstrate their abilities by looking for difficult tricks and variations over jumps. Antique tractor pulls will be part of the Arena show on Sunday May 19. This unique event will bring excitement to Sunday afternoon at the Fair.

The Fair will host a variety of musical genres on the lawn and ranch house stages. Some of the local and regional bands and performers are Danny Elzig – Country, Route 88 – Classic Rock, Dyemusica – Reggae, Big Earl- Blues, Crosseyed-Blues and Classic Rock, Sly Fox Band –Country, Keno and Nicole – Rock & Roll Favorites and Plan B – Rock.

Sadi and the Farmer will be entertain little ones along with the Sierra Silver Strings. Other great entertainment options include the Arm Wrestling competition, Calaveras Idol and the Tug of War competition.
