A Fresh Twist on a Follies Tradition Tad and Jane Bottomley-Winans Step up to Sponsor 2013 After-Party

Angels Camp, CA – Tad and Jane Bottomley-Winans know that change can be hard for some people. After seven years of unforgettable Follies catering and after-parties at Dove Hill Ranch and then a year off and the news of Jane’s retirement as Follies caterer, they understand that it might take something pretty special to lure some folks back into the Calaveras Follies groove. So Tad and Jane have stepped forward this year to continue the Follies After-Party tradition by sponsoring the 2013 Calaveras Follies Sponsor/Cast After-Party at Camps Restaurant....

“Both Jane and Tad have been strong, enduring supporters of the Calaveras Youth Mentoring Program and have been instrumental in the success of the Calaveras Follies,” said Kathryn Eustis, Director of Youth Development and Prevention Programs with the Calaveras County Office of Education. “The Follies just wouldn’t be the Follies without their energy and participation. We are absolutely delighted to have them as our After-Party hosts again, and to have their generous support of our reinvention of the Follies.”

This year’s event, March 9 at Bret Harte Theater, Angels Camp, returns with renewed energy and a bold new theme – A Night at the OSCARS, a Hollywood-themed evening replete with the fanfare of a red carpet, paparazzi, celebrity sightings and the Follies’ signature hilarious lip-synched musical revue. Nearly 60 performers will appear in more than 16 acts along with a host of celebrity (impersonator) presenters. The Elegant Follies Raffle will be back with golf and rafting adventures, spa experiences, getaways and fine dining paired with local fine wines. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and show time is 7:30 p.m.

For Tad and Jane, it’s all about the kids. “You really never know how a small act can change the life of a child,” said Jane. “We have an obligation as adults to take these children by the hand and give them the opportunity to do great things. Caring – that’s what the program is all about. We highly recommend that everyone make reservations as soon as possible. Funds raised by the Follies are vital in keeping the program going strong.”

“We believe in the Calaveras Youth Mentoring Program so very much,” added Tad. “Kids need this help. Some feel so lost and just need someone to talk with.”

Friday night’s performance on March 8 will allow theater-goers a chance to get a Sneak Peek at a reduced price of $20 for adults and no cost for students. Tickets for the Sneak Peek will only be available at the door.

Cost for the Premier Event on Saturday, March 9, is $35 per person and reservations can be made via calaverasfollies.com, by calling (800) 595-4849, or at the box office one hour before the performance. Tad and Jane Bottomley-Winans’ exclusive Sponsor and Cast Member After-Party will take place 9-11 p.m. Saturday, March 9 at Camps Restaurant in Angels Camp.

Presented by the Calaveras Mentoring Foundation and the Bret Harte Leadership Class, funds raised by the Calaveras Follies comprise up to 50% of the operational budget for the Calaveras Youth Mentoring Program.
