Gwynethe Carol Durandt Aug 12, 1939 - January 24, 2013

Arnold, CA...Gwynethe Carol Durandt Aug 12, 1939 - January 24, 2013 Gwynethe Durandt died January 24, 2013 after a 9 year battle with lung cancer. Gwynethe was born in Berkeley, CA to Wendell and Louise Beck. She was raised in Redlands, CA. Gwyn lived in many areas of California; including Riverside, Marin County, and lastly, Modesto, but always considered the Arnold, CA area home. Gwynethe worked as a medical office manager at Ross Valley Medical Clinic in Greenbrae, CA and later managed the offices of several private physicians. She obtained her real estate license in 1972. Gwynethe was the owner of Dorrington Realty for many years and later worked as a realtor at PMZ, and Matel in Modesto....

Gwynethe's interests, which ranged from astronomy to history, were as vast as her collection of books and papers. Her hobbies included gardening, reading, listening to music, and making lists. Gwynethe loved nature, especially the ocean and mountains. Gwynethe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vern Mitchell Sr; twin infant daughters, Cynthia and Christine; nephew, David Beck; brother, Royce Beck; and beloved grandson, Jeremy Michael Kelley. Gwynethe is survived by her brother, Bob Beck (Anne), sister in law, Kathy Beck; children, Vern Mitchell (Cathy), Bruce Mitchell (Denise), Lisa Kelley (Chris), and Beth Lawrence (Dan); grandchildren, Jeffrey Mitchell, Christopher Mitchell, Katelyn Mitchell, Brendan Kelley, Meghan Lawrence, Keagan Lawrence, and Gillian Lawrence; great grandson, Mason Mitchell; nieces, Shari Gardner (Matt) and Laura Drath (Evan); and nephew Aaron Beck (Christine). Gwynethe will be remembered for her use of flowery adjectives and abounding hugs. Private family memorial will be held. Remembrances can be made to Community Hospice of Modesto. www.cvobituaries.com
