Copperopolis Town Square to Host ‘5th Annual Copper Chili Cookoff’...Proceeds Benefit Copperopolis Firefighters Association

Copperopolis, CA...Copperopolis Town Square will host the “5th Annual Copper Chili Cookoff” Saturday, Jan. 19 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Admission is free and chili tasting is $5 per person. Entry fee is $20 for chefs and $25 for vendors. Guests can participate in a 50/50 raffle with proceeds benefitting the Copperopolis Fire Fighters Association....


This year’s event is expecting a record crowd and will feature music by Chains Required, horseback rides by Copper Star Pack and Trail Co. and mechanical bull riding. All shops and restaurants will be open as well as cool treats at Cruiser’s Ice Cream Parlor.



“The Copper Chili Cook-off is one of our hottest events of the year with diverse recipes from across the region,” says Linda Stefanick, Vice President and Event Director for Castle & Cooke Calaveras, Inc. “We are excited to entertain our crowd of chili cooks, families and guests for the fifth year with great food and lively music.”



Copperopolis Town Square is situated in the rolling foothills of the Central Sierra on Highway 4 in Calaveras County, two hours from the Bay Area and 1.5 hours from Sacramento. The area offers visitors a wide variety of amenities and activities including golf, tennis and dining at acclaimed Saddle Creek Resort with accommodations for guests in luxurious Lodge Bungalows conveniently located within a few paces of the golf course.
