Climatologist to speak in Jackson
Jackson, CA...Please join the Amador Fire Safe Council on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 6 p.m. for a conversation with renowned atmospheric scientist Dr. Benjamin Santer, of the Program for Climate Model Diagnosis and Intercomparison with the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory....
Ben’s early research contributed to the historic “discernible human influence” conclusion of the 1995 Report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. His recent work has attempted to identify human factors in a number of different climate variables.
Ben holds a Ph.D. in Climatology from the University of East Anglia, England; spent 5 years at the Max-Planck Institute for Meteorology in Germany; authored numerous publications on climate; received a MacArthur Fellowship, Distinguished Scientist Fellowship and many other awards.
