Calaveras Sheriff’s Volunteer Unit Adds New Members
Calaveras County Sheriff Captain Jim Macedo, swore in four new members of the Sheriff’s Volunteer Unit during the December volunteer meting. The new volunteers Jake Burroughs, Allen Steward, Jim Iler and Ed Evans will assist the Calaveras Sheriff’s Department in a wide range of activities that include helping staff the substations, patrol residential areas, businesses, schools, parks, and crowd control at community events. In addition the volunteers perform clerical and other assistance to the various department offices.
The addition of three new members will help strengthen the number of volunteers in the unit but additional help is always needed. Anyone interested in joining this unit is encouraged to visit one of the sheriff substations throughout the county or call
