Fire Update...5 Acre Bailey Ridge Vegetation Fire. Releaseing Some Units as of 4:58pm
Arnold, CA...There is a 5 acre vegetation fire in a remote Hermit Springs - Blue Mountain area. If you see equipment and planes working they are most likely heading to this incident. Crews are accessing this fire from the West Point side of the county. Update as of 2:31pm..What is now being called the Bailey Fire in the Bailey Ridge area is being accessed off of Winton Road from the West Point area. There are 2 helicopters, 2 or 3 air tankers, one air attack and multiple engines and fire crews... Update as of 3:06pm..They are getting the upper hand as the tankers are being held on the ground. Ground crews are making progress at getting around the fire. The last acreage estimate was over an hour ago so nothing new to report but the initial 5 acre estimate. There was some spotting outside of the main fire and the helicopters and tankers were working the spots to keep the fire together. That has been done and now the task is just to get around the main fire and get it doused... Update as of 4:56pm...This fire will be held in the 5 acre range. They are starting to release some units now.
