3rd Annual Walk-a-Thon for Suicide Awareness and Prevention In Step for September 15th at Bret Harte High School
Angels Camp, CA...Live On!, a Calaveras County non-profit organization dedicated to breaking the silence and stigma associated with suicide is having their 3rd Annual Walk-a-Thon on Saturday, September 15, 2012. It will be held from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon at Bret Harte High School in Angels Camp. There will be a kids booth with crafts, snacks and supervision. Nationwide over 32,000 people die by suicide per year. Over 3,500 of those deaths are in California and Calaveras County has had double the national suicide rate per capita the last few years...
There is a $25 registration fee to walk or you can get sponsors to sponsor your walk. You will receive a free t-shirt with your registration. Prizes will be awarded for those who raise the most money. Please email us for sponsor forms. We'll gladly send you one. Or check out our Facebook page for updates.
Everyone is invited to come and enjoy a nice walk for a terrific cause. We are looking for walkers, sponsors, and businesses for donations for raffle prizes. Cash donations are welcome as well and all donations are tax-deductible. Volunteers are out there now going to the businesses individually. Raffle tickets are on sale for $1.00 each or six for $5.00.
