Expression of Support for the Sikh community
Calaveras County, CA...The following members of the Calaveras County faith community add their condolences to the American Sikh community. We are repelled and saddened by the recent senseless act of violence In Wisconsin against our Sikh brothers and sisters. Violence against any religious community is an act of violence against all of us. We stand together in supporting religious freedom and the Constitution of the United States....

my thoughts exactly. I would sign it since it could be any of the churches up here, any where for that matter...that could be next. . . we can come together for support even if our beliefs may be different.

I think that constitutes St. Pat's joining in. I now the intent was to ask everyone that could be reached.

The idea was to get a statement out asap; we did not try to contact every church in the area. In retrospect, more signatures would have made a more powerful statement.

religious people don't understand one word of Constitution of the United States. If they did, they would keep their noses out of goverment, out of people's choice of who they want to marry, respect a womens right to choose, ect. Without religion, this place would be a peaceful place. Go ahead pinetree.net, erase this comment like I know you will.

We agree with separation of Church and State. The US should allow freedom for all religions. If you look at the founding of our Colonies much of that was driven by the desire for religious freedom. Rhode Island especially... we need to have separation of Church and state to ensure religious freedoms.
The distinction is freedom of religion not freedom from religion. Each of us can choose to believe or not to believe...
