Molly Fuller Named as Summit District Ranger on the Stanislaus National Forest

Sonora, Calif. (July 30, 2012) Stanislaus National Forest Supervisor Susan Skalski is pleased to welcome Molly Fuller as the new Summit District Ranger, filling a vacancy left by Karen Caldwell who retired last year after serving 20 years as District Ranger. For the past five years Fuller has served as a District Ranger on the White Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire...

“Along with her experience as a District Ranger supervising a summer and winter recreation staff serving large population centers in New England, Molly has excellent skills in natural resource management, having had previous assignments here in California on the Mendocino, Plumas and Eldorado National Forests (NF),” said Skalski. “We are excited to have her join us on the Stanislaus NF and in our community here,” she said.

Fuller graduated from California State University Chico with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Range Science. She also earned an Associate of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Letters and Science from Chabot College. She has worked for the Forest Service for over 30 years and is scheduled to report to the Stanislaus NF for duty on September 10.

Fuller has a strong public/private partnership background and has experience in stewardship contracting. She worked closely with the Appalachian Mountain Club to facilitate a trail adoption program and the Baker River Watershed Association to promote river clean-up and public outreach for conservation of river habitat and water quality. She collaborated with various community leaders in solving local problems involving timber harvests, including resolution of long-standing roads and lands issues.

Fuller is married to Bill Fuller and they have two grown children attending universities in California. She enjoys backpacking, fishing, skiing, sewing and gardening. She loves animals and will come to California with her Australian Shepard and twin cats.

Fuller spent some time on the Stanislaus NF during the fire Siege of 1987. “I am excited to come back and see the place in the absence of smoke, meet new people, take on new challenges and learn,” Fuller said. “I am a lifelong learner and pride myself in passion and devotion for the conservation mission of the Forest Service.”
