Doc's BBQ On Stockton Road...The Perfect Place for a Hearty Lunch
Sonora, CA...We had the pleasure of talking with young entrepreneur Rachael Shevlin who is the new owner of Doc's Smoked BBQ and Burgers on Stockton Road in Sonora. She is just 22 and purchased the popular restaurant recently when she was still only 21 years old. While young chronologically she already has 8 years of restaurant industry experience. She also attended the Columbia College Culinary program and is putting experience and local education to great use. She worked and learned all of the Smokey and BBQ'ey secrets of Doc's for a year and a half before she took the plunge into ownership. She plans on keeping the menu that has attracted legions of loyal followers the same. She has added a salad as a small offering to segment of the population that is more leafy greens inclined. Other than that it is just polishing and refining a proven concept....

Rachael stated at the tender age of 14 working at Primos Pizzeria in Copperopolis. She has always known that the restaurant business was her field of choice. When you are in Sonora make sure you head down Stockton Road across from the Fairgrounds and get the best Smoked and BBQed meats in the entire area.
Rachael in addition to attending Columbia College is a 2009 Graduate of Bret Harte Hight School in Angels Camp and while she was there she was an award winning part of the FFA program.
