EXCITING CAREERS begin at Columbia College...Two New Office Technology Certificate Programs

Columbia, CA...Columbia College is hosting an information session to learn about two new Office Technology Certificate of Achievement programs beginning this fall. The Virtual Office Professional Certificate of Achievement explores topics related to designing an efficient virtual office environment, assessing skills and work habits, communicating virtually with technology and clients, and integrating business projects. ....

The virtual industry is the fastest growing industry in the office technology arena. Students will learn how to identify marketable skills, develop a business, and use organizational and personal skill sets necessary to be a successful entrepreneur. The program prepares students to meet professional goals in bookkeeping, administrative support, marketing, desktop publishing and research. The courses assist students in developing their skills and providing support services to clients in virtual environments. This 18-unit program can be completed in approximately 12-18 months.

The Medical Coding Certificate of Achievement has four 3-unit classes: medical terminology, billing, and two coding classes. This fall, two new online classes will be offered: medical terminology and anatomy for ICD-10 coding and medical record abstracting class for coders. These classes will prepare the medical office specialist for the October 2014 changeover to ICD-10 coding.

Join us for an information session on Wednesday, August 1 from 5:30 – 6:30 PM, Manzanita Conference Room, to learn more about these two new exciting career pathways. For more information, contact Judy Reiman at (209) 588-5216 or reimanj@yosemite.edu.
