ALS is a terrible disease. My heartfelt prayers go out to the family whose last few years must have been very difficult.

I wish I had the best comforting words for you but I know that a hug will say it all. My husband fought the same battle. Here's a prayer that my husband use to recite. I hope it brings you so comfort as I'm sure he was surrounded by love:
Father
For the things I should have thought and did not think
For the words I should have said and did not say
For the things I should have done, but did not do
I ask your forgiveness
If the next few minutes, days or weeks are my last
I only ask that your help me to live them well
amen

What a blessing to have such a special husband and dad.
He made our church so much more enjoyable with his open heart and spirit. May you feel the love and support of the community as you work through this week and the weeks to follow. You are an inspiration to other families who face similar situations. God Bless All Of You!

He was an extraordinary man and I am so sorry to hear of his passing away. Among his many accomplishments, we could all learn from his example of conscious and loving parenting.
