The Stanislaus National Forest Solicits Campground Operators
Sonora, Calif. (July 20, 2012)…The Stanislaus National Forest Supervisor, Susan Skalski, announced today the solicitation of proposals for concession campground Special Use Permits (SUP) for two campground complexes on the Forest. A permit or permits to provide high-quality public services in the operation and maintenance of government-owned recreation facilities will be issued....
One SUP will be issued for the Big Meadows Complex developed sites, and a second SUP will be issued for the Lake Alpine Complex developed sites, both located on the Calaveras Ranger District of the Stanislaus National Forest. The same applicant could be selected for both offerings. The SUPs would be issued about January 2013 with the intention of having the successful applicant(s) to start operation during 2013 recreation seasons.
Prospective applicants can find details about the application process by reviewing Prospectus for Campground and Related Granger-Thye Concessions documents posted on the Forest website at www.fs.usda.gov/main/stanislaus/passes-permits or by contacting Leah Phillips, Forest Special Uses Specialist, at (209) 532-3671 ext. 449. All applications must be on paper and received by the Forest no later than 4:30 p.m. PST on Monday, September 17, 2012. Complete proposals must be mailed to: Forest Supervisor, Stanislaus National Forest, and Attention: Leah Phillips, 19777 Greenley Road, Sonora, CA 95370.
Applicants must submit a processing fee of $100 for each permit area application. The selected applicant may be responsible for the costs of preparing and issuing the permit. Additionally, the selected applicant will be responsible for conducting a Financial Ability Determination (FAD), unless the Forest Service has conducted a FAD for the applicant within the past year and no changes are necessary to bring it up to date.
