Chamber Mixer Recap and Business Focus on Distinctive Metals and Angels Sheet Metal ~By John Hamilton
Angels Camp, CA...Just South of Angels Camp on Gun Club Road just before you get to Frogtown is 25,000 square feet of custom manufacturing space. It is home to Angels Sheet Metal and Distinctive Metals. So you thought success and old fashioned hard work were out of fashion? Not here...the Mills family has put heart, soul, dreams and plans into getting this project completed. On top of that part of the way through the project Distinctive Metals' Darren Mills suffered major injuries when his work truck was struck by an impaired driver. So not only was the family placing huge financial and business bets in the middle of the process they had a potentially life changing event thrown at them...
I hope Darren isn't upset that I am mentioning this but watching Darren battle back from injuries that would leave many lesser men on permanent disability has been inspiring. He and the Mills family kept the business moving forward even during his hospitalization, surgery, rehabilitation and recovery. So I am just guessing but I would imagine that seeing this project to completion and having the business healthy with projects in the pipeline means more to the family than many of us can imagine.
So if you are a young man or women in the area that is questioning your will power and ability to create and build the life you want in tough economic times. Look no further than the smiling, happy face of Darren Mills and you will see determination and steely will power behind the grin. That attitude and approach are all you need!
So congratulations Mill's Family!! Not only have you built businesses and created jobs in our area you have invested in it's future with a beautiful new facility.
It was a great Open House and Mixer with good attendance, great food, high tech steel cutting demonstrations and more. For me though the story behind the story was the story!!!
